Pension Training Course held

Nay Pyi Taw, February 9 

 

The opening ceremony of the Pension Training Course of the Pension Department under the Ministry of Finance and Revenue was held this morning at the Minstry of Finance and Revenue< Building No. (34), and attended and delivered by Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Finance and Revenue, Deputy Ministers Daw Than Than Lin and U Han Win Aung, Head of Departments, trainers and trainees. 

 

At the ceremony, the Union Minister highlighted that this training will help staff to perform their duties with high efficiency, to ensure that civil servants pension benefits smoothly when they retire, and to calculate pension cases and issue payment orders timely in accordance with existing pension laws, rules, regulations and procedures.

 

Moreover, the Union Minister said that the Government is trying to establish a National Pension System to create a sustainable and equitable pension system by transforming the current pension system to a funded pension system in order to develop Central Provident Fund.  

 

He also highlighted that pension documents and records are very important for retired employees, so it is important to systematically implement a record keeping system by using advanced ICT technology. He encouraged trainees to study carefully and memorize the pension laws, rules, regulations which were taught in the course and try to become proficient ones in their workplaces.

 

It is learnt that sixty officers and staff from the pension offices will attend this training course, and the training period will last four weeks. The Pension Department will continue to offer pernsion courses in person and online onward.
